It worked nicely: today I got version 1.0.4 in the zip file from ASRock and that installed and worked OK on my ASRock.

Hi to all,

First: on the ASRock site there is now version 1.04, so you have to search for version 1.0.1 if you want it.

Second: there is a way how to install the native infrared driver to non-debian based distributions. You have to download both the binary and source DEB packages, extract their contents and sligtly tweak the Makefile. I was successfull with mandriva 2010.0 Power Pack -
just not ready with the full integration to XBMC.

I expect I will publish it later, this is just the preliminary info for people who know how to do it without cookbook

Hello again, Ramon,

I managed to get the IR receiver and ASRock remote controller working under Sabayon Linux and the 2.6.33 kernel. What a palava. I now know more than I ever wanted to about GNU Automake and kernel module compiling. Anyway, the whole saga is documented in the following thread over on the Sabayon Linux forums:
